South Yorkshire Police officer pleads guilty to drink-driving

A South Yorkshire Police officer has pleaded guilty at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court to driving while over the prescribed alcohol limit.

PC Adam Walker, a serving traffic officer, committed the offence in December 2013 while driving into his place of work in Sheffield.

PC Walker, was given a £475 fine, £85 costs, £47 victim surcharge and was disqualified from driving for 12 months, with the option to reduce the ban to nine months if he participates in a drink-drive rehabilitation programme.

PC Walker is suspended from his role at South Yorkshire Police and a misconduct hearing is imminent.
