French footballer Loic Remy was banned from driving this week after he admitted to drink-driving at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court.

The striker was stopped by police in Newcastle in March and a breath test showed he had 56 mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.  One-and-a-half times the legal drink drive limit.

District Judge Jane Hamilton at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court banned Remy for 14 months and fined him £3,750, plus £200 costs and a victim surcharge of £120.
